Children Book Emma’s Birthday: Learning to Be Gracious

Clarence Thomas once said that “good manners will open doors that the best education cannot”. These words speak volumes, as in today’s diverse and ever-changing society we as individuals are evaluated not only based on what we know, but on how we regard the feelings of others.

As parents we tend to more focus on our child’s academic /physical skill set, and in turn neglect very important emotionally based skills. These skills will not only improve your child’s ability to foster long lasting relationships with their peers, but will enable them to see the world from an angle which inevitably forges your child into a moral upstanding adult.

Lessons for life are usually taught using the most simple of occurrences within the human experience, and this book focuses on how your child should react when receiving a gift they do not appreciate.

“Emma’s Birthday – Learning to Be Gracious” is entertaining, easy to read and instills a narrative which promotes the correct way for a child (or adult) to respond to the situation above. We can all learn a lot from Emma, and I look forward to sharing her story with you.

Grandpa Went to Heaven – Children’s Book

Grandpa Went to Heaven

Grandpa Went to Heaven

This children’s book is written from a Christian perspective for very young children who have lost a loved one. What do you tell a young child who has lost a loved one and is grieving?

Children are so concrete in their thinking, and death can be a very difficult subject to talk about in generic terms, yet especially so in the middle of emotional pain and loss. Yet, they seek answers.

This was written as a tool to assist parents and loved ones to help children process death, grief and bereavement. It has beautiful images and acknowledges the sadness of grief, yet also offers hope and comfort as well.

There is a foreword section to parents in the e-book with suggestions to help their children through this very painful time, and tips to customize the book to their specific circumstances, including other loved ones besides a grandpa.

This is available in paperback or ebook formats as well as some foreign languages.  If you live in the U.S. please use the links below.  If outside of the U.S. please go to your country’s amazon site and do a search for this title and author.  Thank you.

A Child’s Book of Dog Body Language with Pictures: Help Keep Children Safe

A Child’s Book of Dog Body Language with Pictures is a book intended to be read by an adult to a child. The adult can determine which portions or the entire book, is age appropriate. It is an educational book to help prevent possible dog bites, as well as helping children know how to treat a dog, in order to have good relationships with them.

Too often as parents, we simply don’t think about teaching safety issues concerning dogs, until there’s a situation happening. Usually that is not the time for teaching, but for action. Prevention can go a long way.

This book is one an adult can use for both a child who is perhaps fearful of dogs, and a child who is bold with dogs, but should learn more respect. There is a note to parents at the beginning of the book, asking especially that the book be read completely before reading to a child. Parents know the stages of their kids as well as the child’s temperament and history they’ve had with dogs. All these factors come into play when teaching about safety and dogs.

I’ve tried hard to try to make this as least frightening as possible, and to encourage healthy dog/child relationships. The book closes with some silly photos to end on a lighter note.

Legend of Loch Ness Monster for Kids: A Mystery in the United Kingdom

This is a book about the myths, fables, legends and scientific studies concerning the Loch Ness Monster, known as “Nessie” for children. It is for ages 7-12 years old, depending on their reading level and interests.

It is a short chapter book with photos and illustrations. It highlights some of the earliest sightings, as well as more recent sightings. The myths, fables and legends encourage their imagination and invite them to add their own theories. This provides opportunity to use critical thinking skills in a fascinating topic. These are presented as myths, and not proven fact.

Available in paperback book, ebook and audio book formats.  Also available in some foreign language ebooks as well.  Links are below if you live in the U.S.   If you live outside the U.S., please go to your country’s amazon site and do a search for this title and author.  Thank you!

A Book of Dog Breeds For Children: They’re All Dogs

A Book of Dog Breeds For Children They're All Dogs by Amber Richards

A Book of Dog Breeds For Children They’re All Dogs

This is an e-book for young children introducing them to the idea of different dog breeds.  I found when teaching very young children about dogs; they seemed to be confused when taught (for example) that a poodle was a dog, then seeing a Chihuahua that it was a dog as well.
This is an educational, yet fun book for parents to read to young children, or for early readers.  It can also be a way to teach about dogs for children that might be afraid of them, in a safe, nurturing way.
The book contains photographs of 18 different dog breeds, some common, some unusual.  It also contains some exercises for parents and children to do together that can foster fun, giggles, and bonding time.
